Amarillo District Permit Restrictions

These restrictions were ordered by the Texas Department of Transportation, Amarillo District. For questions about these restrictions, contact the following people in the district office:

Armstrong County, SH207 11-05-12 12’ max width and/or no weight from FM285 to FM2272.

This is a permanent restriction.
Armstrong County, FM1151 08-04-14 12' max width between FM2250 and SH207.
Carson County, US60 at Elsie Ave in Panhandle 02-06-09 Over 100’ long: The mover must contact the railroad company 24 hours prior to dropping off and/or picking up from Elsie Ave in Panhandle.
The mover must call Burlington Northern and Santa Fe Railway (BNSF RR): ask for the roadmaster (580) 310-2564.
Carson County, SH207 06-01-98 In Panhandle: No permits under the railroad overhead structure just north of US60.

This is a permanent restriction.
Carson County, FM294 08-14-96 No lowboy type trailers from US60 to E.SH152.
Carson County, FM683 10-31-97 No lowboy type trailers from US60 to ½ of a mile north.
Carson County, FM2880 08-22-14 No weight between IH40 and ½ mile north of IH40.
Carson County, FM2880 08-22-14 No weight between CR9 and FM293.
CR9 is located approximately 1 mile south of FM293.
Carson County, FM2386 08-14-96 No lowboy type trailers from US60 to SH152.
Dallam and Hartley Counties, US54 07-02-14 12' max width between FM767 and US87.
Dallam County, US87/US385 10-05-98 In Dalhart: No permits under railroad overhead structure located between US54 and N.US385.

This is a permanent restriction.
Dallam County, SH102 04-15-05 No weight into New Mexico.

This due to a bridge in New Mexico.
Deaf Smith County, US60 WB to US385 NB 12-02-08 No permits turning from US60 WB to US385 NB.

This is a permanent restriction.
Deaf Smith County, US385 10-24-96 17’ max height from US60 to FM1057.

This is a permanent restriction.
Deaf Smith, SP211 11-21-97 14’ max width and/or 17’ max height from US60 to US385 in Hereford.

This is a permanent restriction.
Gray County, IH40 NFR and SFR 03-05-10 No permits on IH40 NFR and SFR from W.SH70 to E.SH70.

The following requirement is included on the permit when travelling on SH70 NB or SB where it is double signed with IH40:
"Note to driver: When traveling on SH70 where it is double signed with IH40,  immediately enter the main lanes of IH40. Do not remain on IH40 NFR or SFR when traveling on SH70."
Gray County, IH40/SH70 10-17-08 20’ max width from W.SH70 to E.SH70.
Amarillo District has given blanket approval for loads over 16’ wide to travel on IH40 main lanes from W.SH70 to E.SH70.
Loads up to 20’ max width may use IH40 main lanes here without Amarillo District approval.
Gray County, SH70 08-29-06 No permits from S.LP171 to N.LP171 in Pampa.
Gray County, FM282 11-21-97 No lowboy trailers from W.US60 to SH152 in Pampa.
Hansford County, SH15 04-29-08 No permits traveling SH15 EB or WB and turning NB onto W.SH207.
Travel straight through on SH15 is not affected.
Loads traveling SH207 SB and turning EB or WB onto W.SH15 are not affected.
Hansford County, SH15 03-08-99 18’ max height through the intersection of SH207 in Spearman.

This is a permanent restriction.
Hartley County, US54 02-09-11

20,000 lbs max on a single axle, 36,000 lbs max on a two axle group, and/or 48,000 lbs max on a three or more axle group traveling into and out of New Mexico.

Gross vehicular weight (GVW) is not restricted.

This is due to a restriction in New Mexico.

Hartley and Dallam Counties, US54 07-02-14 12' max width between FM767 and US87.
Hartley and Moore Counties, SH354 07-23-03 All loads over 10’ wide must have a front escort from US87/287 to US385.
Hartley County, FM767 07-23-03 Over 10’ wide must have a front escort from US385 to US54.

This is due to a restriction in New Mexico.

Lipscomb County, SH23 04-10-13 12' max width between US83 and FM377.
Lipscomb County, FM2248 03-05-14 12' max width and/or no weight between SH15 and the Oklahoma line.
Moore and Potter Counties, US87/US287 11-14-13 10' max width between N.LP335 and SH354.
Moore County, US287 03-06-92 17’ max height from FM281 to FM119.

This is a permanent restriction.
Moore and Hartley Counties, SH354 07-23-03 Over 10’ wide must have a front escort from US87/287 to US385.
Ochiltree County, City of Perryton 11-20-14 Over 18' wide and/or 17' high: The mover must call the Perryton PD Dispatch (806) 435-4002 at least 48 hours prior to traveling in Perryton.
Oldham County, BI40 in Glenrio 12-03-12 12' max width into and out of New Mexico.

This is due to a restriction in New Mexico.
Oldham and Potter Counties, FM1061 06-12-07 11' max width and/or no weight from US385 to W.LP335/Amarillo.

This is a permanent restriction.
Potter County, Washington St over IH40 in Amarillo 10-14-14 125' max length crossing over IH40.
Washington St is located approximately ½ mile west of IH27.
