Subject: Revised Procedures for Title Transactions/Title Package Reports
These documents contain text of correspondence sent by TxDOT to the county tax assessor-collectors, statutory agents who provide vehicle registration and titling services for citizens in Texas. This information is provided to apprise the general public of issues affecting the state's vehicle titling and registration process.
PURPOSE
To provide you with revised assembly procedures for the submission of title transactions and Title Package Reports. This Registration and Title Bulletin (RTB) supersedes RTB #078-04 published August 6, 2004.
DETAILS
The attachments provide updated information regarding discontinued requirements and title packaging clarification. Complying with these procedures will reduce the number of county rejection requests released in error, and allow the Title Control Systems Branch to operate more efficiently. The following is a summary of the significant revisions:
Clarified bundling procedures
Moved requirement to print the word "Rejection" from Title Package Report to the copy of the Title Application Receipt (Form VTR-500-RTS)
Eliminated requirement to submit Title Only, Salvage, or Reconstructed vehicle transactions as special category transactions
