This information is provided to apprise the general public of issues affecting the state's vehicle titling and registration process.
PURPOSE
To provide you information on changes to the initial application process for certain military license plates.
DETAILS
Effective immediately, process responsibility for initial applications for Air Force Cross, Army Distinguished Service Cross, Navy Cross, Silver Star, Distinguished Flying Cross and Legion of Merit license plates, will be returned to the Vehicle Titles and Registration (VTR) Division, Special Registration Branch (SRB). Renewal of these military license plates will continue to be process by the counties through the Registration and Title System.
This change is due to the relatively low volume of new applications and the extremely high visibility of the plates that resulted from passage of the federal Stolen Valor Act.
