Subject: Revised Application - Trailer Specialty License Plate

These documents contain text of correspondence sent by TxDOT to the county tax assessor-collectors, statutory agents who provide vehicle registration and titling services for citizens in Texas. This information is provided to apprise the general public of issues affecting the state's vehicle titling and registration process.


The Form VTR-996 has been revised to add the American Quarter Horse specialty license plate and to provide clarification regarding the types of trailers that are eligible.


American Quarter Horse and Conservation (Largemouth Bass) license plates are now available for passenger vehicles, light trucks, and regular trailers but not for travel or farm trailers.


A copy of the revised form is attached for reference and may be copied as needed until distribution is received. Please destroy all previous versions of the form.
