011-13 New TxDMV Website

Registration and Title Bulletin - #011-13

Date: April 25, 2013

To: All County Tax Assessor-Collectors

Subject: New TxDMV Website

These documents contain text of correspondence sent by TxDMV to the county tax assessor-collectors, statutory agents who provide vehicle registration and titling services for citizens in Texas. This information is provided to apprise the general public of issues affecting the state's vehicle titling and registration process.

To announce the arrival of the new TxDMV website on April 29th.

The new website has been designed with our customers and partners in mind, and we hope you will find it easier to navigate.

County staff can now access the improved Tax Assessor-Collectors’ Information Hub by clicking the ‘Tax Assessor-Collectors’ button at the bottom of each webpage, or from any of the three user groups’ drop-down menus. We have improved the layout and functionality of this page in an effort to better serve your needs. In addition to the familiar, “Latest Communication” section at the top of the page, InfoXchange sessions, Release Notes, and other Resources are available from tabs right on the TAC page. There is easy access to Subcontractor training materials and Dealer/Licensee Lists, as well as a Quick Reference section located on the right side of every page.

The new design is driven by user groups rather than by the products and services we offer. The main user groups are Motorists, Dealers and Motor Carriers. Clicking on any of these groups at the top of the page will generate a drop-down list of relevant pages. Application icons are now featured on the homepage and display prominently on each user group page. Customers can click on these application icons to access functions such as Title Check, Registration Renewal or Vehicle Transfer Notification.

A Toolbox feature is located on the right-hand side of each page and provides access to interactive icons, including forms and publications. The search feature has been improved and allows a user to conduct a site wide search or a dedicated search. For example, a user will now be able to search for specific RTB information from the search box on the RTB page.

Specialty plates are now prominently featured in a single grouping. Users are able to sort plates by category or search for specific designs. Clicking a plate opens a window that provides additional information and a link to place an order. Charity plates display information such as what cause the proceeds support and how many plates have been sold/renewed.

We will continue to work on potential enhancements for the RTS workstations that will allow even better access to website features.

Please review the attached document and familiarize yourself with TxDMV’s new website. Access the site on April 29th using the same web address, Note: the RTS workstation screen resolution should be set to ‘Standard’ for optimum functionality.

If you have any questions or problems, please contact your local TxDMV Regional Service Center or call the RTS Help Desk at 877-933-2020. Also, if you have feedback or suggestions for enhancements to the website, please email the TxDMV Web Team at This email address is being protected from spambots.
