Registration and Title Bulletin - #028-12
Date: August 3, 2012
To:
All County Tax Assessor-Collectors
Subject:
Discontinue Use of 130-U Short Form and Stamp
PURPOSE
To provide instructions to discontinue the use of the 130-U Short Title Form.
DETAILS
This is to remind you that use of the rubber stamp provided to county tax offices in 1996 and any electronic version of the 130-U Short Title Form were eliminated by RTB 060-06. The electronic 130-U Short Title Form is not an approved TxDMV form. Neither version of the short title form allows for the collection of all the required information to complete a transaction nor do they allow for the verification of information entered into the Registration and Title System.
COUNTY ACTION
The use of the 130-U Short Title Form and stamp is not acceptable for any transaction, including Registration Purposes Only (RPO) or title corrections. The use of these forms should be discontinued immediately. Transactions that use either version of the 130-U Short Title Form will be rejected. The most recent revision (Rev. 05/12) of Form 130-U must be used.
